"Think Like A Chef" Cooking Classes
Featuring Chef Keith Darling

Anyone can learn to cook confidently and creatively. Learn time honored techniques and have fun too! Next time you have a gathering, your guests will taste the difference. Our classes are a "hands-on" method and everyone participates in learning the techniques being taught. Class size is small for one-on-one instruction from the chef. Every class ends with a sit down meal you and your classmates have just prepared. We provide all the tools, equipment, and food for the class. If you just take one class or all four, you will have gained new knowledge and experience to become a more confident and creative cook.

Chef 1 A great way to start the series is with the introduction to saute. You will learn what it means to saute and how to properly do it. We will show you the importance of this method and give you an understanding of its use. You will also learn the proper way to use a knife and the many different cuts. Finally, we will teach you two stove top sauces.
Chef 2 Chicken Stock!! This class you will learn how to make a rich chicken stock, the base flavor for many sauces. We will teach you how to debone a chicken, develop a Roux and make a Veloute, one of the mother sauces. Throw in another great stove top sauce and you will have a great experience.
Chef 3 Flavor development! This class will explore how flavor is developed. You will learn about the layers of foundation of flavor and understand the method behind them. We will teach you how to truss a chicken, pan sear and finish in the oven technique. You will learn to caramelize for color and flavor, make compound butters and salad dressing. This class is a student's favorite.
Chef 4 Braising and marinating. You will learn the secrets of marinating and creating rich flavorful stock. We will teach you about braising and learn some incredible French style dishes. This class is about comfort food. The menu is sure to please.
Chef 5 Advance Sauce Development!
Learn 10 new sauces and expand your culinary skill. To take this class, all students must have completed Chef 1, Chef 2, Chef 3, and Chef 4. Tuition is $80.00

Classes do not have to be taken in order, but each class builds on the other so it is recommended. Tuition is $75.00 per class paid in advance.
